We replaced the roof below with "Rustic Evergreen" asphalt architectural shingles, all new downspouts, gutters (black ) and installed all new metal fascia's and soffit's, also in black. Really nice home.We installed ice and water shield up from the eaves 9 foot ( 3 rows.) on the main house roof.
Five layer tear off and re-deck of entire roof using 7/16 OSB roof sheeting.
" Antique Black" architectural shingles.
Here, we removed the old, original Slate tiles and installed "Antique Black" asphalt architectural shingles. We replaced the gutters and downspouts also. The house is shown here below before the gutters were installed. The shingles are a Class 4 Impact resistant type ( hail resistant ) shingle.
Here, we removed 2 layers of asphalt shingles and 2 layers of wood shingles before we could install the new "Weathered Wood" asphalt architectural shingles and new gutters and downspouts too. Shown here below. Roof has a 22/12 slope.
30 foot x 80 foot
This one was an old tar and gravel type roof that we took off and installed a "full glue down" rubber roof system.4 layer tear- off then " Dove Gray " asphalt architectural shingles.
Ballast type fastening for the rubber roof system.
This is the first house built in Cortland, Nebraska. After receiving hail damage we replaced the roof with "Natural Timber" asphalt architectural shingles then added all new gutters and downspouts also. Note the antique, steel, fancy ridge covers that are original to the house. Beautiful home.
" Dual Gray "3-tab shingles installed.
This one above's getting "Moire Black" asphalt architectural shingles, " Sandstone " gutters, downspouts, new metal fascia's and soffits, also in the "Sandstone" color." Rustic Cedar " asphalt architectural shingles, Class 4 Impact ( hail ) resistant, lifetime warranty shingles and new gutters and downspouts too.
Asphalt roof shingles often show cupping (a concave center) curling (raised edges which curl downwards) and fish mouthing (raised edge of a shingle tab at its center with a little curling)
Each of these asphalt roof shingle conditions is different in appearance and while all of them may indicate worn, old, or fragile roof coverings, their causes and prevention vary. In some of the photos of cupped roof shingles on this page, "fish mouthing" is also visible. It is common for multiple wear signs to be present at once. These shingles happen to be at the end of their life cycle, but having inadequate ventilation will do the same thing to a roof only much earlier in the shingles "life" cycle.
